If you are contemplating a major change initiative answer the following questions to build a business case for the change in your own mind.

Strategies for Hiring World-Class People

Is it consistent with our mission, values and philosophy?

Will it help us realize our vision directly or indirectly?

Is it something you are passionate about?

Do you have the ability to rally the necessary resources to make the change happen?

Is it something for which you are willing to assume ownership? Do you have the courage to be accountable?

If the answer is YES, then get out of the parent-child mentality where seeking permission is the norm and go for it. If you make a mistake, show how your decision affirmatively supported the five questions above; then ask for forgiveness

Remember: The world is not changed and your organization will not be changed by those who are unwilling to take risks.
